Yoolax Motorized Cellular Shades

just got 5 of these and installed around bedroom and bathroom. they look exactly as advertised, white color is perfect and they blackout the room! the remote is super easy to use, this is going to be an amazing convenience that i want to install all over my house now!

I'm really enjoying this blind. I plan to purchase more for the house. I had to get the remote to pair with a Broadlink hub, in order to control the blinds while away.

These were easy to install. Programming the remote was a bit of a challenge. With the help of YouTube, I finally got it. They work beautifully. Just what I wanted. They work good with Alexa, but you will need a hub to integrate with. The batteries last for weeks before needing charged. Overall, I couldn’t be happier unless they lowered the price a little.

Let’s just get the very few negatives out of the way. Despite the careful and protective packaging, the shade had a minor dent on the front of the aluminum header straight out of the package so that was a bummer. It is small but noticeable. Our shade is about 75” wide, when the shade is completely up, there’s a bit of a sag right in the center.Onto the positives: the shade works just as expected. The remote was a little confusing to set up (even with instruction) in the beginning but we eventually got the hang of it after a few tries. The motor works smoothly and quietly, slightly slow (maybe about 1” per second). We have the blackout version and it filters out light perfectly. We installed our shade right on the trim so it’s not completely flushed to the wall, a little light still come out on the side but I’d imagine if close to the wall, it’ll filter out 90+% of daylight. I was able to install this by myself without help. It wasn’t easy due to the nature of the width but still manageable!

Added solar charging kit, so I didn't have to get a ladder to charge unit. Very convenient to press remote control to open blinds in morning and to close at night. Update: solar panel disconnected from motor battery twice since installing. I believe that the vibrations of the motor slowly vibrate connection loose. I was able to get a ladder on steps below blind and reach up and push connections together. Lasted about a half a year and my last attempt to push connections together failed and now we are stuck with blinds partially open.

I absolutely LOVE these shades and they work flawlessly. I purchased one for every window in my house and programmed them with the Bond hub and Alexa control. I am really happy with them and have received many compliments on them. They were super easy to install and program, with easy-to-follow YouTube videos. I even had some issues with one of them and their customer service was stellar. They responded to me very quickly and helped me diagnose the issue. Ultimately, they decided we should replace the shade and they shipped the replacement super quickly. I cannot be happier and I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone!

We had a window over our tub with a cellular shade that required we step over and into tub twice a day to open and close. Found this on Amazon about $100 cheaper than available from our local Home Depot and took a chance on the light filtering gray shade (not black out) A little leery since it was from China. The instructions seemed a bit daunting at first but in the end, it was much easier than it appeared. Works like a charm. If there is any negative it's that we will have to reach under our top treatment and in the back top of shade to plug in USB to charge when needed, to solve that we plugged the cable included into the back and using the two sticky cord holders included to run the cord down the inside of the window frame which means we can now easily hook it to a portable charger when needed.Update after 1 year and 4 months a string got twisted and it no longer performed properly. Contacted the company and they replaced the blind at no charge minus the battery pack so I could use the old battery pack on the new blind, and all is well again.

Let's get the bad part out of the way:It's hard to see on the picture, but imagine trying to screw the left plastic bracket that is holding the battery into it's pre-drilled hole: The hole was where the motor was! So, fortunately I have a drill, small drill bits and not really afraid to get hands dirty. Drilling two new holes for the two plastic brackets (you see the new location) and it's done.HOWEVER, if you do not enjoy drilling holes into your ~two-hundred dollar brand new product, you will end up using superglue, duct tape or return it. Not good! I reported it to Yoolax but got no response.Not so great:The added battery pack adds a hefty depth to the unit, if your window encasing is 4" (5cm) deep, no problem! But if you running on thin space, this might be a problem.Minor quabble:You can not recharge them without taking the unit down. The charge port is on the battery which is behind the installed unit.The good:You can quite easily/fast take them down (the quick connect is working well), so that's not an issue IMHO.Lastly:They DO work very well. They are not too noisy (three window shades running up or down sound a bit like having 3 angry bees in your house but it's quite tolerable)They integrate well into the app and it is quite straightforward to adjust the top- and bottom-stop with provided instructions [Unlike the Yoolax ShangriLah blinds, we have 2 of those, and NEVER EVER got them to program correctly, I would not buy those again]So, all said: I personally would buy the honeycomb shades again - and likely will - now that I know how to drill mounting holes, no problem.Overall, good value for the money.If you're not a handy-man/woman, proceed with caution.

This is our second order (2 shades) from Yoolax. We were looking for "smart blinds" for a while. We went to retail stores and on line and nothing seemed either fit the budget or have the options we were wanting.The biggest issue buying shades (or any decor related stuff) on line is you don't actually know if the color will be correct and in this case if the shades will fit.We took the bold step and ordered our first smart shades from Yoolax on Amazon Prime. We figured it would take forever to get custom shades from across the world (China), but they arrived in about 3 weeks.They installed super easy. I'm seventy and had no problem.The color was perfect on all our shades and they all fit perfectly.The packaging was excellent and protective.The voice control was a little more challenging and requires the right "Hub" The first hub we ordered I couldn't get to work with Alexa. Yoolax customer service was awesome! They told us which hub should work (Bond Home) and refunded the first hub cost.The Bond Hub works great is easy to set up.OK now that all that works great we bought 2 more blackout shades for the bedroom. They were here even faster, about two weeks, and it was simple adding them to Alexa voice control.I ordered light blockers, but shades fit so well I didn't need them. I contacted Yoolax and again outstanding customer service response. They refunded the blocker cost immediately.I am sure we will be ordering more from them in the future.I love my girl fiend Alexa helping me open and shut the blinds so I don't have to mess with cords or climb over the bed and couches to close them.Thanks again Yoolax!Helen and George

I love these blinds. They are fully black out blinds just like how I wanted it. Very easy to install the battery and the blinds themselves. Battery charging takes about 2.5 hrs. I'm not sure how long they will last just yet. One thing to note when you install is to leave enough room to remove the battery later for charging. I chose the inside window option, and I left 3 inches length from the edge of the window frame to the point of screwing the brackets, and it leaves just enough room to remove the battery. All the blinds I bought can be programmed into 1 remote.Now, the worse part of these blinds, they are a nightmare to program because the instruction booklet is crap. Don't even bother with customer service on this one, just YouTube Yoolax blackout blinds and there is a 2 minute video on there that can help with how to add a blind/Chanel to the remote. For some stuff, I did use the instruction book they provided but to be completely honest, programming the blinds took forever! Other than that, these blinds work great.
